ABOUT US

The Women in Combinatorics network, WinCom, is intended as a platform for any Combinatorialist who identifies as a woman or non-binary person and would like to connect with other women for various professional reasons and concerns. A database spreadsheet is available for the public to view as a place to search for women collaborators, keynotes, and mentors to encourage the diversification of our research networks. For departments looking to include more women in their conference presenters and colloquium speakers, the database can be searched based on research area and location to encourage visibility of women mathematicians within the combinatorics community.

This network was initiated by Linda Lesniak, Erin Meger, and Kieka Mynhardt in 2019 as a response to the discussion at the Women's Lunch at the Canadian Discrete and Algorithmic Mathematics Conference 2019. Subsequently, a number of international volunteers have been recruited to support and maintain the database and manage communication within the network. Future plans include applying for grants to expand our activities and to create a Facebook group. We encourage all those who identify as women to complete the form to join the network on our Database page.

We are thrilled to announce that WinCom has been awarded the 2021 Mathematical Sciences Scholarship Fund presented by Elsevier.
